Fishing remained strong last week despite some severe weather that pounded us on Wednesday. Guests had great success by not sitting on inactive fish for too long. Moving was important. Another key to success was the number of lakes fished last week. A couple of our go to “hot spots” weren’t so hot requiring us to steer guests to more productive waters. Some notable events included a 42.5” pike and 30” walleye. Both were featured in my mid week fishing report. And yours truely saw a caribou on the walk out of Onaman (sorry no pic).
The forecast for this week is extremely good. The predicted consistent weather will continue to warm our waters. That in turn makes for some very hungry and aggressive fish.
Two final notes from last week include strong river fishing for walleyes (mostly while standing right on shore) and BIG pike moving away from the shallows.
