15.25″ Whitey from today. I do love these fish a lot, like flatheads, there is something about them. They strike a chord with me.

No, wasn’t born with a hand connected directly to my shoulder. Guess I haven’t mastered the art of hiding my hand.

It was quite the multi species day. We also ended up catching…

    walleye

    sheephead

    redhorse

    bluegills

    northern

    channel cat

    smallmouth bass

    sauger

That’s 9 species. Probably a first for me to see that many different ones come to the boat in one trip. Although, I did not catch all 9 species, StCroixer helped in the tally.

Oddly enough, at 41 this is my first sauger.

    I know, wrong thread.

    More bluegill photos…

She went about 1.25 – 1.5 lbs I am guessing.

No longer will my brothers be able to make fun of my filleting skills now that I got the electric fillet knife.

Got a monster 10″ gill on tuesday on a new lake. RyanK and myself ran all over the lake with the fishfinder until we marked fish then put the flasher down. It was a tough bite but we managed 8 gills 8.5-10″. We picked up one fish on each school that came thru and we marked lots of schools. With the quality of fish we caught and the amount of fish we marked I am very excited about this lake for the future.

I wish there were more, but it was slow. Got an 8″ just after that, otherwise I was scraping for keepers and let my brother have them, since there wasn’t enough for both of us to keep.

I just hope that isn’t an aberration, but instead a sign of things to come.
