I have a 6-6 UL I have used in the past for crappie early in the spring.

One gets a good fight out of the UL but for me, I like the light action rods better. I believe I am a bit more accurate with the light rod when casting.

The UL does cast small jigs pretty good.

The UL is a great sporting rod action.

Now if I am jigging over the side of the boat, then I like the UL as it detects the light bite a bit better.

I guess for me, it depends on how I am going to target the fish.

I hope this helped you some.

i was just going to post about elk river rods.i have heard of them but never saw one. my wife and i took a ride up to Philips to go to st croix and pick up a couple legends extreme’s, she wanted to do a little shopping in town first.
i ended up at elk river just to see what they had. WOW! what a great experience,I am pretty picky and was looking for a specific weight and action for a technique that i am fine tuning.what great service,2 1/2 hours later i had ordered two erx’s that will be perfect. It felt like i was getting fitted for a set of golf clubs.this weight, that action, full grip, split grip, these guides or those guides.
i was exhausted but had a lot of fun, and i got exactly what i wanted and saved a few bucks also. i can’t wait to pick them up. I might have a few legend tournaments for sale.
