Lake Pepin White Bass Bite

Anybody been White Bass fishing on Lake Pepin recently? My friends and I will be up there the week after Labor Day and I was just wondering if the White Bass fishing has picked up there lately.

caught several in one pass trolling cranks near the head of the lake but they may not be in that area when you arrive but they should be easy too find with some searching and if weather allows looking for seaguls and fish breaking the water….. good luck

Fish the side of the lake that the wind has been blowing towards, it makes them tighter in groups and easier to find.

We fished Lake Pepin from Monday, Sept. 5 thru Sunday, Sept. 12 for White Bass and did not do well at all. The weather most days was cool and very windy. This is the second year in a row the fishing has not been good. I am beginning to wonder if there is something more to it than bad luck. The bass were not schooled up like normal the last two years and the gulls were not diving because of it. I hope it was just bad luck. I wonder if the shad population has dwindled the last two years.
