P9 Gills

    Took my son and checked out a few bank locations that spawning gills can be had. The smaller gills have moved in. It was very interesting sight fishing and watching the reaction of my son and the fish. He had a blast teasing these fiesty little devils before reverting to exploring the area. If you think a gill can’t see 4lb line ~ guess again.

    The big ones should be in full swing soon. Kept 18 real nice males Saturday for the fryer while putting some smaller ones in the bait tank for Flathead fishing.

    You mean items like a pale of iron pellots that bounce out of rail cars or pumice rocks from the railroad bed or limestone rocks with lines in them that fell from the “broken mountain”…..

    Yeah, the pannies and bass are up in the shallows en masse right now and I’m seeing large numbers of small sunnies guarding nest pits.

    It’s fun to watch those tiny guys act huge and menacing when guarding their nests…
