Finally some good crappies made it into my boat. The last few trips out have been a bust for me, nothing but bass, bass and more bass. This weekend I hit a new lake, did a LOT of searching and was rewarded with some darn nice pies. Pink and white tubes did the trick on old papermouth, however I wish I would have had some minnows along to see if they would have outperformed the plastics, next trip! The crappies where hanging in about 5-6 feet of water, tucked up tight in the new weed growth. Most of the weeds were not all the way to the surface, but they were close. A cane pole would have been the ticket to work these fish from the reeds. It was a beautiful weekend to be on the water 
Funny to watch the access rookies get the boats in and out. It was very interesting on Sunday
