So this winter I found a nice little lake with a good population of Crappies, no public access on this lake so it gets fished very little. Thought it would be a great idea to rent a canoe and get em now early summer. We fished the whole lake used worms/plastics/leaches/minnows caught a lot of small pearch which I caught none of this winter but not a single Crappie. Any ideas of where they could be? This lake is a bowl shape and only gets about 15-17 feet in the middle. We had no way to check water temps but I bet it was at least in the 50’s or 60’s. We didnt have any electronics being we were in a canoe. Any Crappie experts have an idea of when or where to find them? Thanks for the help in advance.

1~5 feet of water spawning. Thats my guess.

Around here, the little lakes like that all suffered winterkill.
