Deb & I just got back from visiting our daughter who is teaching in Cairo, Egypt. While there, we cruised down the Nile River. I kept looking for people fishing. We saw people using nets from small boats, just like in the Bible. We saw many people spearing fish(or trying. They had no luck) I only saw one young man fishing with a pole. While our boat was docked, I did spot some panfish that resembled perch/sunfish. They were just thick! And most were from 6″-8″ long. I had no means to try my luck, but I did snap this shot. The water at Luxor was quite clear. In Cairo, it looked more like the lower Mississippi. If I would have only known the opportunity would present itself. Maybe next time….

That’s pretty cool on all accounts Ed!
Next time better throw in a spool of line and some jigs. You can always find a pole.

Were the guys netting on the left or right side of the boat?

I’ve seen Ed’s hands. Finger as big as his are all that’s needed for a pole….just tie the line to one.

Sounds like a nice trip Ed.

These guys were netting on the left! I never thought of it, but I should have just walked across the water (on a dock, of course!) and told them to try the right side. I even bought a galabaya, the traditional Jesus or Arab leader type robe for a party….I might have been able to make it work! I should have brought you along, Brian!
