Had some great crappie fishing the last couple evenngs on my favorite West metro lake…I have noticed the last few trips they have really started to turn on and bite a little more aggressive with the warmer weather.

My favorite crappie bait is a 1″ berkly micro tube in white or green on a 1/32 oz. jig head. Berkley stopped making these a few yrs back and I wish I could find a few more packages in green and white. Anybody know where I may be able to find some??

The crappies were in 3 to 5 FOW in a shallower/soft bottom bay. I would assume most of the metro lakes are shaping up for some nice pre-spawn crappie fishing now.

Sorry for the bad pictures but I was by myself tonight; need to learn how to take better pictures when fishing alone.

The pictures are just fine and I don’t know where to find 1″ berkly micro tube. I will be a Cabelas tonight and will see if I see any on the racks. Kind of doubting it though.

Nice fish! For the tubes, try lil’ hustlers micro tubes if you cant find your powerbait. Been catching a lot of crappie on them lately. The 1″ version and a 1/64 jig head. They make 1″, 1.5″ and 2″.
