White bass, Striped bass are popular fish among the Asian community both as a food source and sport fish. Fish can be a large part of diet for Asian community, consumed much more often, for some several meals a week is not uncommon. When you see a person of Asian ethnic, its just not Hmong. It could be Laotian, Vietnamese, Combodian, Chinese, Koran, etc. Its best not to assume what you dont know.
I will be more POLITICALY correct next time and be more inclusive sorry to leave so many nationality’s out..
EDITED TO ADD… The DNR is not g=ds gift to use they have been wrong on many things in many ways ( we still a DNR don`t get me wrong ). Usually corrections are made after the fact at much cost to the resource.

Ignorance & blaming another without any merit doesnt help this thread’s purpose. Nor blaming people for taking fish from other states with no limit applies to this survey.
When your gonna point the finger directly at certain ethnic group or individual you better well get it right, aint no excuse. People of all color take fish, your no different. Just because you see a bunch of Asians fishing in an area doesnt mean their not within their extent of regulations. I have been to southern states where the shores are line up with hundreds white/Caucasian fisherman day in and out and no one is profiling or complaining there when loads of whitebass/stripers are taken.
There are many unknown factors that affect the decline of a fish population. If the DNR feels a need to set regulation changes for these fish then im sure their smart enough to do so.

I don’t think they (wipers) are commercially fished anywhere. I think most of the fish come from commercial fish ponds. Most of what is labeled “striped bass” are hybrids (wipers) grown in ponds for market. Look at the fish counter, there are “Striped Bass” and “Ocean (pacific or atlantic) Striped Bass”.
May 11, 2013 at 10:06 pm #1170187I swear, the racism, ignorance, and intolerance of some members on here is almost unfathomable. First its the ‘indians are killing our walleyes’, then its the ‘mongs(theyre too ignorant to even spell hmong correctly) are killing our white bass’. Whats next, the ‘blacks are killing our catfish’? Seriously, the year is 2013, its not 1953 anymore.

It is not racist when a good part is FACT. Head on down to Petenwell when the stripers are running some time. Or the limits on many Wisconsin lakes for Walleyes is only one, do to spearing.
Am I racist you don`t even know me maybe opening your eyes would help some and see what is happening, and I did say others.
