Mega meal for big crappies

These should satisfy the hunger pangs large crappies can get when the water warms up after post spawn.

The belly portions of the top two baits, pro blue over pearl white, have uv enhancer in them. The center bait is shaded but the top one is in direct sunlight and you can see how the enhancer in the plastic sets it on fire almost. The pic was taken very early this morning while the sun was still fairly low in the east and was casting a long shadow. I’ve tried pics with the uv enhancer in white, clear and transparent colored plastic at mid day and the enhancer reflects so much light it messes with the camera’s auto focus.

These baits are right on at 3″ and will fish great on jigs down to 1/16 if a size 2 hook is cast into the head. These are a versatile bait and will attract walleyes and sauger as well.

They look almost like gulp minnows! Whose mold is that?

I’m not sure they are headed that way. I’m in the process of adding a couple and removing a couple baits right now and haven’t decided how much revision I want to do.

Looking good. Do you incorporate any scent into you recipes?

No Dave. I’ve never found the need for scenting the plastics. I know many who do add scent to their plastic though and those who do seem to swear by it. There are about as many scets available as there are colors it seems.

Looks like you could drop shot those pretty good…Never tried drop shotting for panfish but I bet it would work.

There are times when drop shotting crappies and panfish works really well. Its simply a matter of adjusting the size of things to fit the need. When the big gills crawl up on the wing dams in the heat of summer is one time drop shotting them can be a riot.
