The Perch fishing has been excellent on Candlewood Lake in CT. I have been catching jumbos from 11-15 inches in 25-40 FOW on deep main lake basins adjacent to river channels. The fish have been keying in on alewives and I have been using a new bait from REINS, 3 inch bubbling shaker worms on 1/13 oz. tungsten jig heads with 4# GAMMA FC Ice line to get the bait down to these fish quickly. This new REINS bait is absolutely amazing. I havent had to tip with spikes or mouses, these fish think its an alewife and they race up to it on the flasher and inhale it.
