Mother Nature will be handing us one of the backwater panfishs’ primetime foods shortly….tadpoles. With that in mind I decided to do some modifying to a stinger plastic with a flat, blade tail and came up with this bunch.
I shortened the body enough to get the overall length to just about 1 3/8″. The body section then got bevel cut to create some flats for attaching the eyes, then they got a clear dip all the way to where the tail begins. After shooting, trimming and re-insering the tail color to be ready for the body color, I put just a spot of orange near where the bevel cuts would be to serve as gill splash.
Its a nice little bait and it fits on a 1/32 head cast on a #8 sickle hook perfect. But these things are time chewers. It took well over an hour to squirt up 40 of these things. I sure hope they work.
