Shorefishin Prior w/Kids!

Got the 2 and 3yr old out yesterday to enjoy the beautiful weather we finally got, and to let the kids haul in their first of the ’12 open water season! The gills were on fire and fell victim to a 1″ gulp alive minnow on a bare hook 1′ below a float, retrieved extremely fast and erratically,lol(kids)- in a small dark bottomed bay that maxed out at 3 1/2fow. Still barely a sign of any crappie action in this favorite spot of mine that’s usually on fire for them right now… Oh well! Kids had a great time, and dad sure did too! Get a kick out of all the kids on prior “Turtle Hunting” in their little kayaks, there’s at least half a dozen around the lake paddling around with a net every weekend

Know that spot, but the crappies are still out around the corner. Crappies were in 7-10 FOW. Pink/white jig tipped with Gulp minnow, or dark gray twister-type tail – SLOWWWW retrieve.
