Just in case panfish fisherman on pool 8 think the water level is too high yet, they are starting to hit well. All you need to do is fish in the backwater sloughs. Just look for wood and manageable current in 1 to 10 feet of water along the shoreline. I’m not using anything fancy, just a #6 aberdine hook, split shot, and redworms(taken from my compost pile in the backyard). I took my limit of nice bluegill with a half dozen good crappie as a bonus, two days in a row so, I think the bite is finally on. If the river continues drop, things should just get better. I have not been out on the main channel cause of boat motor problems but, the back water sloughs closer to home are just fine. Of course you are always going to get an array of other fish species as well using this simple style of fishing. Weather was beautiful, simple lazy fishing, a good catch…how can you go wrong?
