Just before the river decided to drop over a foot in each of the four days prior to this day out, 3 of us just happen to be out on a explore mission on pool 10. Back sloughs that normally have a foot of water in them, now have 4+ feet in them with decent flow..

Small slip bobbers, some of my Custom Jigs and Spins Ice tackle, like the pink and white shrimpo, and the diamond jigs with the ticket !!! That being the business end.. Having a 5′ UL St. Croix rod (great advise from Dean’s tackle box)made for pulling 8+” gills and 12″ specks an absolute blast !!!

I think this pool is in for some fantastic ice fishing and i’m not trying to skip thru some of the seasons best fishing… but I’m excited for the hard water to arrive !!!

Thanks G for picking Steve and I up dock-side !!

The bluegills have been on a feeding frenzy on the river lately. Im actually disappointed when I catch em though since I’m tryin to get bullheads For flatheads but it’s still fun bringing in 8+ inch bluegills consistently
