Just wanted to let you all know that we will be holding a series of public meetings to discuss the experimental sunfish regulation (10 fish bag) that were put in place back in 2001. The full news release is posted below. We look forward to hearing your comments.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) seeks comments on whether to extend, modify or eliminate the reduced possession limit for sunfish on the Minnesota side of the Mississippi River in Pools 5, 5A and 8. The reduced possession limit of 10 sunfish has been in effect since 2001.
The DNR will hold a series of public meetings to present findings of an evaluation of the experimental sunfish regulation. An open discussion and comment period will follow the presentation.
Meetings will be held at the following times and locations:
•Oct. 20 – Winona Elks Lodge, 4540 Service Dr.
•Oct. 21 – La Crescent American Legion Post 595, 509 N. Chestnut St.
•Oct. 22 – Wabasha High School, 2113 Hiawatha Dr. E.
All meetings will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Those unable to attend one of these meetings can obtain a summary of evaluation results from DNR area fisheries supervisor Kevin Stauffer, 1801 S. Oak St., Lake City, MN 55041.
