What a great morning to be on the ice, with a warm front supposedly moving in I figured the fish would be stabelizing and really begin to get active. Well I guess us fisherman have a knack for wishful thinking, this was the toughest ice fishing I have had in a long time. Today we were concentrating on crappies, and they were acting really weird. When I had a crappie come in I was able to coax him to bite. With artificial lures you could get these crappies just get plain mad and completely hammer your lures. I found by best bite near deep water (to me that is over 6ft) I think the cold front has pushed my shallow water fish out and forced them to retreat to deeper water. We ended up finding some nice perch in the mix of some crappies. I hope the weather stabilizes making the fish get a little move active. I will be heading to the Rice Lake area this weekend, hopefully I will have a good report to bring home.

    Tight Lines,

    Joey
