When I got on the ice this morning my truck said it was -7. The fish were acting a little sluggish this morning, they would come in and bite for about 20 minutes then act sluggish for a while. If you had a little patience you could sort your way through some nice fish. I am finding my early ice techniques are not working well for me this year, I am having my best luck on very simple presentations. This morning I had to downsize my jig and bait presentation to get into the nicer fish. The ice is in good shape, the area I was in had over 6 inches. Time to get the power auger fired up.
