Anyone know the ice conditions down there? Any luck fishing for crappies?

Went there 2 weeks ago and it was a blank. No crappies, no pike, just a bunch of big shad swimming around.
I would suggest being very, very carefull with this heavy snow and the current on the river. Ice is melting and is never thick there. Be very cautious, as thin spots to fall through are very common.
