Well I hopped around a little this weekend and came up empty handed…only little guys on the end of my line.. Anyone else have any better luck. It seems there’s an unbelievable amount of baitfish in the area..are the fish full??

    L. Onalaska was slow for me on Sunday. It’s been like that the whole winter. I imagine it will be picking up soon.

Mostly about 5-6 inches however there was 2-3 inches in a few spots. There was still open water between the two islands.

LOTS of baitfish in other areas on pool 8 as well. I really believe they are pushing the crappies and gills out…and thats why I’ve been catching crappies 3-7 feet below the ice over 20 ft of water… it should be getting good soon, or at least as soon as the shad die off!

Is there anything going on by the LaCrosse airport this winter?

Cade..where are you finding 20 ft. of water?? I’m new to the area and haven’t found much deeper than 7-8 ft. I’m like a lost dog out there

I fished around there today. The bite wasn’t hot, but the size was good. There have been a handful of people fishing by the Black River beach the last few days. Camp 22 has seen a pretty number of people fishing in the last 2 weeks. But, for some reason, the end of Fisherman’s Road has been really quiet as far as people. There were 2 guys fishing there today. That seems odd since that area usually has quite a few people fishing daily in years past.

The bay up by Nelson park has had just a few people also-nowhere near a many as usual but I have not tried yet…maybe later in the week.
The main lake is still real slow.
