Greetings from Irving Texas. I didn’t have a chance to get up an official report before I left, but wanted to let you know what has been going on, on 13. I’ve been doing okay on crappies, but no monsters. Most days, I would get 10-15 crappies over 10″ but I haven’t seen a 14″ fish in weeks. One day when the crappies just weren’t hitting at all, and I mean at all, I headed to an area that had no current whatsoever and pulled 7 perch that were real Sumos, for down here. All were over 10″ and 4 were 12″. I usually toss them back, but kept the perch this day. Six of them were females and one was male.
I caught the perch on slip bobbers, gold hooks, and minnows. Bronze hooks couldn’t buy a bite. I’ve been getting crappies on 1″ bl/wh as well as char. tubes.
I’ve had a heck of a time keeping the LM out of the boat as well. I’ve definitely kept myself busy with those things. They are still hitting with a vengance.
I apologize for no pictures, but I just didn’t have time to get them resized before I came south. I looks like the pool will have ice back on it next week, but I bet you still have a few days to get out there with the boat. You’ll be able to get out there after next week, but not everywhere.
BTW, the water temp. was 36 degrees last weekend.
