The gills still have the feed bag going on, on the Black. The bigger gills have move just a tad deeper. 10FOW with some current flow, a 32oz orange jig tipped with a piece of crawler is still what I am loading up with.
There are also some 13 inch perch taking the same offering. A person might do better on the perch with minnows. I don’t know, didn’t have a minnow with.

Good luck on the water people

thanks for the report Bret. I am going to give it a shot tomorrow. Took my grandson out this morning to Goose Island. Fished a few snags and got just little fish. But he had fun and we didn;t fish very long, Funny how is attention span is awful short. But we did have fun splashing each other with water and the boat ride was also fun. He will be three in October so just going with him and his dad is always a hoot. Also, taking him fishing has gotten my son to buy his first ever fishing license, So there may be hope yet.–John

Its easy, you just pop them in the head and wait for them to float up

Questions on gills. I didn’t notice this but my buddy pointed it out. Some of the gills we caught today had a thin red worm coming out of their butt. Yep that’s what I said. Can anybody explain what they are? My son amd I kept 14 bigger gills on the Black Monday and today a buddy and I kept 24 off Lake Onalaska, lots of small fish. Red jig tipped with crawler.

Very interesting I can’t say it has been something I have seen. I can’t say I have ever noticed red worms in the cooler when cleaning it out either.

Sounds like you put a few nice fish fry’s together
