I may be coming up to the Lynxville, WI area of the river to try for some honking bluegills soon.
Will the action pick up as the weather warms? Oh well, even if they are not biting I am sure the
beer is still cold at the Falling Rock Bar…..

I sure do hope I get to go out and play on Thursday. If it works out I’ll have a report by Friday morning…Most of the reports I’ve been hearing haven’t been all that great….

    but…..we’ll see

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know (in a normal year) how long the ice remains safe at Cold Spring to fish?
My weekends are getting booked up but I want to get over there. Since the south end of Cold Spring is away from
current will the ice stay until mid March? Thanks!! – jim

I think a lot depends on the warm weather/ run off coming from the creek that dumps into it….I haven’t fished it all year so I’m not sure how much ice is on it…..I’ve been drillin through 20″ of ice in the Ambrough area….

shoot, a week or two ago I heard that two vehicles drove out of the north Ambrough Landing right out to Little Mo. and one of them drove accross the island and up into Big Mo.

The last time I went to Cold Springs was 2 sundays ago, and there were plenty of people there, but the fish were few and far between. A couple of nice ones were pulled out, and a guy even caught a rainbow trout! I never knew they were in there. There was one shanty down by the big rocks, maybe he was catchin em. As for the ice, I remember going down there in march last year and there was still ice, but then a few days later it was gone and we started to pick up them nice crappies . Anybody getting into some walleyes lately?
