When I woke up on Saturday morning it really felt like one of those days when you know the crappies will kick in. Over cast, and a front moving in = shallow water crappies. These fish were on the tear for 1 hour, then shut down. The 35 in. Pike we landed on 2lb test may have helped with this. I had saw 3 really big pike that day and we caught 2 of them. I was fishing in the LaCrosse Area, and the ice is on the cutting edge of being unsafe. The key to locating some of these fish is water clarity, and currrent.
