Went today around 1:00pm and fished til about 4:45pm. Fish didn’t hit well until later in the day when I started pickin up crappie’s like it was nobody’s business at Ronkowski’s Slough out of Genoa. I ended up with 10 crappies that ranged from 8-10 inches. I went yesterday and got a 13 inch crappie. A Few days before, people in our group limited.
Gills hit early in the day, Crappies towards the end, so if someone had a shanty and a lantern, you could come out of there with a limit pssibly. A couple of guys had some tip-ups out and from what i could see, they did pretty well off of them. Caught most of the crappies on a pink rembrandt. some crappies and most gills on a small pink glow genz worm. 6″-7″ of good ice, the water is going down however and the ice cracks periodically. Fishing the snow covered spots has proved the best method.
