Sunday was “one of those days”. I was able to connect with several crappies and sunnies and had an enjoyable day because of it. The backwaters seem to be clear, the duckweed plentiful and the water temperature is about 65 degrees. I was not sure if the particular spot I had chosen would produce with the fall weather being as warm as it has. I was able to pick a few fish out of numerous brush piles in the area. There were two places that had some larger fish in them but the wind changed direction and blew in a massive mat of duckweed. I had great difficulty presenting my bait consistently so I would move on to a “clean” brushpile and start again. I fished until I was out of bait and even tried artificials with limited success but I had to get on home to clean the catch and cook supper. It was a great day to be on the water….
