after nailing some of the biggest gills i’ve seen in my life yesterday my friend max and i hit the water again today at the “secret spot” on pool 8. we started throwing an ice jig and a chunk of crawler around some perfect cover including downed trees and logs all over. LOTs of snags. we had a pretty good day by looking at the fish we caught in the pictures, i think that it was between 25 and 30 gills that we kept. we easily caught over 100 fish today. including a couple of crappies and a couple of small bass. fun day out on the water but hard on equipment ! (i’ll try to post pics)

Sounds like a very fun weekend on the water Nick. Thanks for the report. If you have an area with alot of snags try using a bobber to keep the bait up above the snags which will hopefully give you more catching time and less rerigging time. Go get em Bud.

    Thanks, Bill

    Nick,
Just in case your camera doesnt work, I will have to second the fact that those were some dandy gills you had. I agree, that spot is great. I have been catching lots of gills there for a couple years now, And a lot of sunnies that are of that caliber. I would have to say that some of those gills you had were pushing 9 or 9-1/2 inches and they were beautifully colored and fat. The crappie wasnt bad either. Maybe 11 inches. Good eaters!!! Enjoy!
