Fished through the weeds lots of very large gills caught. Small pieces of crawler on the bottom in 13 feet of water. Managed 30 plus with a large perch and several walleyes thrown in for good measure wish I could get back.

Is this the two “ponds” that have the boat ramp in the middle between Feryyville and Lynxville along the river between the Hwy and the tracks?

If so, I drove past it yesterday. Must have been 20 boats in it.

Fish, you got it. Hard to drive by there anytime and not see someone fishing it.

I have driven past that places thousands of times winter and summer. Always 1 or 2 people fishing, but the last time by it was NUTS! Never saw that many people with the exception of ice fishing maybe.
I may give it a try sometime. Graduated from DeSoto High in 1982, and I have NEVER fished there.

I fish the area a lot. This time of year the gills come off the main channel and head into any back water they can to bulk up for winter. You can always do well the last two weeks of Sept, first week of Oct by hitting the choke point just on the other side of the bridge from the main river. This works for any area not just cold springs.
