crappies

    River high and fast. We fished backwater with no current.We had to sort through a bunch of small crappies,but we got 12 large ones.Crappies were on the bottom in submerged brush 12- 16 feet deep. Tried bobber fishing for any suspended crappies and never had a bite.Crappie minnow, split shot, hook, is what worked for us.

    can you give me the pool you were fishing and if you tried anything shallow with the river coming up?
