Wedneday 8/3 I spent the day fishing Pools 5A and 6. After having no luck trying for Walleye, I decided to take out the crawlers and got after Sunfish. The result was some real nice Sunfish, caught literally right on top of the Wingdams in 2-5 feet of water. Although I caught a few along the banks of deeper sloughs, most seem to be out on the channel on the Wingdams and Rock Piles.

Wow. I’d like to try that. Did the current speed make a difference?

    Yep,

went on Thursday on Pool 6 after the Walleye Tournament ended. Fishing bottom in a deeper slough with a bit of current I caught some really nice ones and kept 10. I wasn’t sure if the limit was 25 or 10, but 10 is plenty for me anyway. Kept the skin on, scaled and bought some bacon for the grease deciding these would be cooked the old fashioned way.

They do seem to have moved off the Wingdams and into the deeper sloughs.
