WAS CAMPING IN WYALUSING STATE PARK FROM THE 5TH THROUGH THE 8TH. SPENT TWO DAYS PANFISHING ON POOL 9 AND 10. WE STARTED OUT ON A SPOT WHERE I HAD DONE WELL PREVIOUSLY ON WHITE BASS. WE MANAGED TO CATCH 4 WHITE BASS, ONE 2LBS SMALLIE AND A SMALL WALLEYE. THIS WAS IN LOWER POOL 9. STAYING IN THE LOWER END OF THE POOL WE STARTED FISHING FOR BLUEGILL. WE FOUND A REAL NICE SPOT AND DID PRETTY GOOD. WE HAD TO SORT THROUGH TONS OF SMALL FISH. BUT THE ACTION WAS STEADY.
WE MOVED DOWN TO POOL 10 LATER IN THE DAY. STARTED FISHING IN THE GLEN LAKE AREA. FISHING A BIT TOUGHER THERE. MORE SMALL FISH AND MORE BOATS. THE FISH WERE AROUND LAYDOWNS AND THERE WERE ONLY SO MANY LAYDOWNS TO FISH.
ON SATURDAY, WE REPEATED THE SAME STEPS. IN LOWER POOL 9 WE CAUGHT NO WHITES, 1-14″ SMALLIE. WENT TO THE BLUEGILL SPOT. CHANGED OUR TACTICS SLIGHTLY AND STARTED FINDING BETTER GILLS. WENT TO POOL TEN AND HAD BETTER RESULT ALSO. STARTED TO GET A FEW CRAPPIE TO MIX IN. CRAPPIES WE VERY SPOTTY. THOUGHT THE WOOD COVER WOULD HOLD’EM, BUT ONLY CERTAIN LAYDOWNS HAD FISH ON THEM.
WE SPENT A FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME FISHING FOR WHITE BASS. I KNEW FISH WERE THERE, SAW THEM SURFACE HERE AND THERE, BUT COULDN’T GET THEM TO BITE THAT WELL. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO JUMPSTART THESE FISH? I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. TBASS
