I live in Mora, Got down there about 11:30 on Friday. I don’t do much walleye fishing, I like to fish catfish and panfish. Water was too high for my liking, I tried fishing the MN side of the dam area, nothing! Jigs and crankbaits.

Talked to several boats, cigars or nothing. even the lock area the boats started leaving and the weather got worse as the day wore on. I started going down river looking for current breaks of some kind. Fished around Diamond Island and hit a great spot. 10 casts – 10 fish, nice whites. On a natural color shad rattle trap. Biggest was 16.5 inches. Probably caught 50 out of the spot before it petered out, kept a few smaller ones for dinner.

As far as I know I was the only one really catching fish. had a great time and looking forward to meeting some of you on pool 4. Coming down again this wednesday. If you see a 16 ft tracker with a 25 horse merc in Baypoint park or the dam area, stop and say hi and share a story or some info about pool 4.

Lousey grammar and an even worse username, two dogs names put together.

    let’s talk fishing.

Welcome aboard Abbey. I see your are from the Mora area. Hows the fishing been up that way? I get up there a few times every spring chasing crappies and some walleyes.

Sent you a PM a little while ago. That is the flashing envelope at the top of the page. If you go to (MY Home) you can get into it.

Good luck on wensday. I think I am going to be down there also.

    nice to meet you, sorta.

Knife Lake was giving up a few crappies (nice eaters) before the cold fronts dropped the temps so bad. Got a bunch of sunnies and some dandy perch a week ago sat.

Thats the last time I was out.

Maybe talk to you on wednesday.

    Hi Abby,
Welcome to IDA, you are going to like this place. lots of good folks, and good info.
The White Bass should be showing up more and more soon, I hear they have been spotty lately. check around shoreline areas and current breaks like trees in the water edges and eddies. and keep your eyes and ears open for when they are chasing minnows on the surface, that will give away their position, and usually where you find one, there will always be more. good luck, report back often. Jack..

    Thanks all for the welcome.

Sounds like I came to the right place to expand my horizons.

Got to get some work done around here so that I don’t feel guilty on the water wednesday.

Got to get a new user name.

    Paul
