Hows the panfish bite?

    Well I’ll be paying my dues this weekend ‘working”, not fishing, a tournament for both Saturday and Sunday so am kinda thinking about maybe taking the jon boat down to fish some panfish between the launch and weigh in times. Its a toss up between walleyes and panfish but need to stay out of the tourney guys way. Are they in the wood or on the drops? Anybody been fishing them on the Mississipi lately?

    Hey Bill,
    Pool 8 crappies had the feed bag on Sunday. I was fishing in 20fow and the fish were suspended at 5-10fow. Sweedish pimple produced crappies in the 12-14 inch class. Only caught a couple dinks on a minnow.

    WOW!!! Nice size crappies. Were they suspeneded off of the drop off? Or suspended over deep water somewhere else. They usually relate to some kind of structure so was wondering if that is the case here. Thanks, Bill

    The biting fish were off the drop about 10 yards. I marked plenty of fish suspended out farther but they did not like my offering.
