Robbed the cradle today….

I went down to goose island today to look for some bluegills at one of my favorite spots. It is a tree that you have to crawl out on and jig with a piece of nightcrawler on a jig. I was using my ice fishing pole. I couldnt get anything going at all…except for these little minnows that would hit but were too small to take the bait in. Then i decided to head back in the woods to a spot for some bass. I caught one stinkin bass and nothing more…untill i decided to go for bluegills- i tied on a small foam float and threw it out around some brush and caught 35-40 fish. The biggest one was only 6 inches or so, and they didnt have great color, but it was a fish on every cast, and it is always cool to set the hook and watch those little 3 inchers come flying out of the water
anyway, things are slowing down a little bit, but i think its just because i havent been able to get out in my boat.. Afterall, last time we were out, we caught somewhere around 25 bass between the 3 of us! aww heck it seems like i dont know what im doing this year…maybe i need to get my head screwed on straight!
