Maple Springs Crappies

    On 7/5 I was upstream of Maple Springs on pool 4 attempting to get some eyes. I did not catch a legal eye but saw several boats pulling in nice size crappies using minnows. In hindsight I wish I had done what they were doing as the walleye fishing was poor.

    Is that on Lake Pepin? I always wondered if anyone ever caught crappies on that part of the river. Is there any structure there that they hold on?

    Yes it is on Lake Pepin about 4 miles downstream of Lake City. There is all kinds of structure over in that area.

    We caught a couple of nice crappies casting cranks into the rocks just up from pine creek a couple of weeks ago. 2 were just about a pound and alot of fun. I never expected them to be there but we had a few in couple hours of fishing.
