I haven’t been over that way since July but was thinking of making the trip next week. I’d prefer crappies, ‘gills, or stripers but am open to what’s biting. I’m not fond of chasing bass so I guess taht would leave me with catfish or walleyes. Any suggestions?

I caught a lot of stripers on a buzzbait last weekend on 12. They were chasing minnows on the main river points and RR riprap. Too bad I was in Bass Tourney.

Thanks for the replys. My Dad went over there Saturday. He said he never got a bite in PinOak or Brown’s. He and my Uncle decided to fish on the east side of the channel across from the inlet to Brown’s & caught a few ‘gills. Dad said he had something big on that broke his line. Since the old man fishes for everything with 10# test, I’m guessing he stumbled upon a Northern or some other toothy critter.

I finally get to go out this weekend for some panfish. Has anyone been on 13 in the last couple of weeks? I would appreciate an update or report.

Got out on Pool 13 Saturday. Tough bite for most of the day. Caught tons of fish but most were small, 7″ or less. Did finally find a tree holding some slabs. Fished there until we ran out of minnow. Caught tons of bass also. Fun day on the water. Brought home 20 fish between 2 of us. We caught the best fish in a backwater with some clean water. The side slughs were dirty and fish were really tight to cover.

Were the Crappies in the dead water, slight current, good current or all three?
Is the water high enough to get into Mud hen?

I found them in all three. The fish in current were tight to cover and on the small size. The better fish we caught came from a backwater with just a tick of current. Clean water there also. The water color in the hard current was very dirty. The backwater we went to had clean water. If you can call water on Pool 13 clean.

Not sure where Mud Hen is. The water was up some. I don’t think ir was at winter pool yet.

Gills, I think mud hen is on pool 10 around PDC instead of 13 but maybe I could be wrong. Anyone having any luck lately are PDC or in pools 10-12?

You can get into Mud Hen pretty easily. The bite has been slow picking up a few crappies on minnows by the downed trees.

Yes that’s right I did’nt mean mud hen ” got it stuck in my head ” I meant
could I make it up into Brown lake, & yes I did. I had just under 2 ft at the
shallowest in the canal leading up to browns. The water was relatively clean
& ended up with 14 Crappies & 3 gills on Friday. The wind was swirling & made
    the presentation difficult.

Brown’s has been easy to get into all year. In my 5 or 6 trips over tere all season I’ve caught maybe 15 fish. I think for some reason they just don’t like me anymore.
