Was out on 5 yesterday in search of some eyes for the pan before I start chasing the elusive whitetail in a couple weeks. Well plans changed after the first 3 casts…..3 fish all SLABBER gills! They sure seemed to enjoy the crawlers I was feeding them 
I anchored in front of a wing dam and used a jig heavy enough to reach the bottom but yet it still drifted a bit. I’m serious when I say every cast! Loads of fun with the gills and same decent smallies thrown in. Oh yeah and one upper 20’s nothern that kept stealing my jigs.LOL Saw him sky like a smallie once.
