Crappies

    I just returned from the Pool 9 area and had some luck with crappies. Minnesota Slough above Blackhawk produced the best size, but DeSoto Bay produced the best numbers. In Minnesota Slough I was using a plain hook and split shot in 9-13 feet around old flooded trees. In DeSoto Bay I just cast 1/32 oz. jigs around snags along the railroad rip-rap.
    The largest was 14 1/2 inches. They are starting but it will get better.

    Thanks for the good report on the area around Blackhawk. I have never fished this area. I have a few day camping/fishing trip planned for AUG 2.
