I was out the other day and caught 25 big pigs. They were on there beds. They were all 8 9 and 10 inchers. I went back there the next day and caught very few of anything. Then I went again the day after that and all i could get were little ones. Did the big ones spawn already or did the rain and colder weather shut them down. I was fishing on pool 5A.

    hi Zoom,
WELCOME TO IDA FISHING SITE. If the weather cooled off, I’d have to say the bigger gills moved out. when it warms up in the next few days they should have to move back into the shallows again. what did you have for water temps?? keep us posted, bring the camera, and don’t keep all the big ones you catch, selective harvest is where it’s at. good luck. Jack.

If I can’t find fishi shallow, I always work my way out deeper finding the uaually the first breakline, and fish the deeper water there, ususally with luck, and then again sometimes I have to go a bit deeper.

Generally around where I fish, the mayflies are popping which will pull all of those nice ones out into the main river for a feast. They might be back later they might not
