gills below the Genoa dam

There have to be 10 gazillion gills holding below the Genoa dam now, tucked in amongst the rocks both above and below Clement’s float on the Minn. side. Takes about 90 minutes to fill a limit using 1/3 crawler on 1/16 oz jighead bumped along the bottom until you find a pod of fish. If you want honest 8 inchers it will take you maybe 2 hrs. or so. I’ve been having the best luck with an orange jighead, using a 10-6″ Crappie Commander rod and 8 lb. FireLine—fishing TIGHT to the bottom

Sounds like a fun time Ted. Haven’t heard from you lately, white bass should start poping on the Rock River soon.

Sounds good Ted, I’ll get out Tuesday morning for three hours for some scouting and find the honey holes if weather permits, if I find the fish would you like to join me and possibly a buddy Friday? Friday I have vacation and off on the weekend to pound the Rock River hard. other wise I have an open seat Sunday also, Saturday booked in the morning. Water is very low again, so if you have any tricks up your sleeves lets hear them. Talked to(DNR)Mike Cross couple weeks back and he said white bass up and down, need warming trend which we starting to have. He also said anglers were getting some nice bass by Bark River. One day they would have a buckets full and the next day nothing. So the warm weather should be the key. Really not to many anglers fishing around Fort yet so that tell me it’s slow yet and the big run still to come.
