What are the panfish doing in the area, and what are water temps at? I’m looking to try my luck this weekend. Thanks

I was on Lake Minniwawa mid last week and the water temperature was in the low to mid 60’s.

We were out to have some fun and was fishing anything that would bite. We left most of the fish we caught in the lake.

For our 3 days of effort, we caught a dozen plus “fun” sized northern, a couple eater sized eyes, a mid-sized perch, and a couple 9 1/2″ sunfish.

My fishing buddy was using leaches and I was fishing plastics.

I am glad to hear that you left the big sunfish in the lake. It is so important so the size of the sunfish don’t get stunted.

Great to release any sunfish over 9″. 8’s are great eating. Hoping to find some crappies on Minnewawa and Horshoe. Anyone finding crappies yet?

mid to low 60’s from the rivers to the bays on sandy. Walleyes taking there time getting out to the main lake and the panfish are either in the river or pencil reeds.

    Have fun be safe!

Great! I hope to find a few slabs this weekend. I love those black beauties!
