I have been searching for a ~7′ Fast action L or UL panfish rod under $50 for this spring. The problem is everything I’ve found are two piece rods, save for the high-end St Croix ones. I really prefer one piece. Bonus points if it’s graphite and even more if it’s a split grip. Is there anything out there that gets close to matching this?

The Cabela’s Fish Eagle rod is the closest I can think of to your needs. It’s a 7′ ML Fast one piece for $69.

I haven’t found anything that matched them. I’ve gone through a few cheaper panfish rods before I got one of those St. Croix Panfish Series 7′ light-power fast-action rods a couple years ago. Pretty slick. I match it with one of my 1000-size ice fishing reels with 4lb braid and a 3-4lb fluorocarbon leader. It’ll toss 4mm tungsten jigs, little Mepps, and tiny balsa Rapalas quite a ways. You might want to just eye those up and try to find a spring sale. I think I only paid $80 for mine.

13 fishing defy silver are the best I have found at that price point. 49.99. They come in either 6’6 or 7 foot ultra light and light actions. They also come in both 1 and 2 piece. Fleet farm carrys them if you have one in your area.

Looks like an exact match, right at the top of my price range but it’ll do. Thank you!
