Good win for the Vikes. Now the tougher teams are coming and hope we can win at least two of them. Panthers, Giants, Texans

Congrats to the Vikes. They sure outplayed GB. I think McCarthy must of been drinking spiked Gatorade the way he coached.
September 19, 2016 at 8:01 am #1640306“No team in football has felt the wrath of Peterson like the Green Bay Packers have since 2007, and it creates a significantly more difficult divisional schedule in 2016.
In 14 career games against the Packers, Peterson has rushed for 1,648 yards, more than he has against any other NFL club. His 302 rushing attempts and 202 career receiving yards are also his highest per-opponent numbers, while his 5.46 yards-per-carry against Green Bay is undeniably strong.”those are nice stats but that havent done much for winning many games, even last year when the division was won the vikings couldnt win in the playoffs. I like Mccarthy’s quote “we dont have ceremonies for division championships around here”
September 19, 2016 at 8:02 am #1640307Pack fan here: I think we are going to get crushed. The stadium is going to be too much for Rodgers to handle IMO. The Vikings D is going to disrupt everything we do on Sunday night and I just don’t see it going our way at all. Vikes 30 Pack 10
Man,, I was right on,,,Just didn’t anticipate that we would recover only 1 of the 4 fumbles.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22882September 19, 2016 at 8:41 am #1640317It was a pretty decent game. It seemed like the Packers were moving up and down the field but had little to show for it in points. 132 yards in penalties for the Vikings!! Geez, that was terrible. That’s a good passing game for the Vikings in recent years.
Waynes was struggling at times, but came up HUGE when it really mattered. He was flagged a lot, but man, he had some chances at balls too which is good to see. Needs to be a little less handsy, but he had another ball he could have picked too.
The O line was bad. I was expecting better things from them, but Fusco just got blown up on pretty much every play.Pete SPosts: 277September 19, 2016 at 8:46 am #1640318rodgers hasn’t had a passer rating over 100 in 14 games. This is more than “a bad game or two” he is a shell of himself right now. I still can’t quite figure out on the 3rd and shorts he’s throwing into coverage 30 yards downfield. 65 yards in the first half is a joke in the nfl these days. credit the vikes d to some extent but pleeeeeeeeaaaaase, someone put a mirror up in the packer locker room so McCarthy and A-Rodg can look into it and see the problem
roosterrousterInactiveThe "IGH"...Posts: 2092September 19, 2016 at 9:07 am #1640322So if I remember right the Pack took 3 points off the board twice by not kicking field goals. (Maybe it was just once…). But either way they lost by 3 points! I am sure that GB fans are going off on their coach today. I cannot understand why you don’t take the points?
September 19, 2016 at 9:25 am #1640325For pete’s sake! You would think this was the end of the world for WI.
Appointment in the body shop today was canceled because the tech called in sick…Ativan is being handed out like candy at work.
September 19, 2016 at 9:27 am #1640326McCarthy is a serious problem for the pack, I thought he should have been fired after losing to the seachickens in the nfc championship a couple years back. I hate to add more bad news to pack fans…actually nevermind, I don’t mind at all….but the Packers just aren’t that good! Did you see what happened to the Jaguars yesterday (the team the Pack barely squeaked one out against)!?!?
As far as the Vikes go, they need to get Xavier back, and work on Waynes technique. This game very easily could have been a blowout if we just fall on fumbles, and don’t give them 200 yds of penalties.

Waynes has the potential to be a stud. He was with his guy while time just making rookie mistakes, that’s what happens. Let’s not forget about the other 2 dropped interceptions that should’ve been had as well by others. Defense is already good, when it all comes together, scary good.
Trade Peterson now. He will not fit into this offense, and never was the answer. He made this team too one dimensional and with a legit QB who expands the D, holes will be made much easier allowing any average RB to take advantage.
September 19, 2016 at 10:16 am #1640341Wow. The Vikes did about 1 more thing right than they did wrong but that was enough for a win.
The Pack looked dazed and confused the whole game. Every time it looked like Rodgers was going to start firing on all cylinders and march down the field, the drive would fizzle. I mean, how many yards does Waynes have to give the Packers before they can put it across the goal line?
If a high school team had butterfingered 3 fumbles the way the Vikings D did, I know what those guys would be doing at Monday practice: Fumble drills followed by more fumble drills followed by drills on how to fall on a freaking fumble so you don’t cough it up again like a dillweed.
Look, D guys, here’s the cold hard truth: There’s a reason you’re not playing on offense. Hear me now and believe me later. It’s your hands, guys. Your hands. Now fall on the fumble like a good boy and let the guys who DON’T have nicknames like “Stonefingers” take over from there.
Our O line was so bad it’s amazing that Bradford had the game he had. Which just shows how we’ve got a LONG ways to go if we want to win against a real defense. Seriously, this isn’t going to be good when our O line could barely hold off the Pack’s limp attack. This is the most serious issue the Vikes face, if the O line doesn’t get it together, they will lose against every team with a competent D and end up below 500.
It was a win, but once again it’s looking to me like another year to avoid driking the North cool aid and dreaming about playoff runs. Nothing looks that much improved to me over last year, different players, but still big gaps on both teams. Vikes have a lot of development to do if they want to compete against serious teams and if they play like that against a real team they’re going to get their @sses whipped by 4 or more touchdowns.

September 19, 2016 at 10:20 am #1640342Holes ? Did you see any ? I didn’t… AP keeps the D honest, that is what he did last night and it opened up the passing game. You gotta run to throw, or as a D, you stop the run at the expense of the throws… that is what I seen. The Vikes did the opposite, they gave up some runs, to Lacy, Starks and Rodgers, but the secondary was pretty good, when they weren’t committing penalties and dropping Int’s.
Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559September 19, 2016 at 10:21 am #1640343Peterson is frustrating to watch with that stutter step approach of his. He gets the ball and takes two steps to the line then dances around like a drunk before committing to forward movement. One in ten runs might yield some decent yardage but most runs either are no gain or backwards. He’s so easy to read that just about any defense can tis his butt up. Asiata gets the ball and turns into a bulldozer. If Adrian played that way he’d be something but his two step approach has to go.
September 19, 2016 at 10:42 am #1640346awfully quiet on here from Pack fans!!!

Exactly what I meant. With the Vikes defense Mc should of took the points. Dumb

Not much you can say when they played like that. They looked terrible and REALLY out of it. The Vikes played better and won. Move on and hope Rodgers gets his team together.
The Pack will be back, I just hope it’s sooner than later
September 19, 2016 at 12:07 pm #1640366I am really impressed that we are 2-0 despite our offensive line looking like the worst unit in football. Its a testament to how talented our defensive unit really is and this without starters Rhodes and Floyd. I don’t know if it is sustainable and looking ahead we have 3 very tough games heading into the bye week. From a pack perspective I would start to be concerned about Rodgers. I mean last year he still posted 31 TD’s to 8 INTs in a “down year” so hes obviously still an excellent QB but he isn’t the same player he was a few years ago. People keep saying it was Jordy being gone or it was the fact that McCarthy wasn’t calling the plays, or the running game was this or that but maybe its actually Rodgers that is the problem. Again with numbers like his its a good problem to have, but we may have seen the last of Aaron Rodgers the MVP.
Just my observations

Teams have good games, and teams have bad games. Too early to tell what’s going to happen. I would say this will be a busy week for the Pack.
On a side note… I chuckle when grown men call other grown men STUDS. Carry on.

Vikes fans get excited? You predicted the Pack would win 67-0…Remember? Teams do have good/bad games. Pack have had two bad one’s in a row though. Give credit where credit is due. The Vikes outplayed GB. Now on 12/24 that may very well switch but as of today Mn is the better team. RR

You Packer fans get soooooo sensitive, especially after the Vikings win a couple. Cripes, why does discussing the game have to this big slight against the Pack?
It’s not like anyone was saying that US Bank Stadium makes Eddie Lacy’s thighs look big. Although now that you brought it up… Joking, only joking. Take it easy, we all know the Packers are going all the way this year.

judging by his tone I would say that he watched the game. I would be feeling a little short tempered if I were a packers fan myself

Look, don’t tell anyone, but just between you, me, and the internet, looking like they did yesterday, the only way either of these teams will be going to the Superbowl is if they buy tickets.

Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559September 19, 2016 at 2:20 pm #1640404I think both teams have a real tough row to hoe to get anywhere big. Both had too many flags tossed their way and had too many mis-handled balls. Winning teams come to the game ready and don’t have 200 yards of negative yardage assessed against them and the other team’s quarterback doesn’t look like he’s sniffing something.
I sure hope they can both clean up what needs to be and provide a reasonable rest of the season.
Minnesota’s O line needs work big time. Aaron and Clay are not spring chickens anymore, which shows now.. It was a game, but not hardly worth prime time.
September 19, 2016 at 3:51 pm #1640423have you watched any of the other games ? nobody looks like a SB team in week 2, not even NE… not even Denver, certainly not Seattle or Baltimore….
September 19, 2016 at 6:01 pm #1640444It’s early man. Viking fans should be feel good. Bradford looks like the guy you need, and your defense is solid. I don’t think either team are world beaters, but it should be an interesting season anyway. Can’t believe McCarthy didn’t kick the frikken field goal! Let’s see, you can’t run the ball at all, so you call a line buck for Starks instead of taking 3 in a tight game. What a moron!

and if they would of converted he’d been a hero!!!!!!!! just sayin!!!!
September 19, 2016 at 11:12 pm #1640492Gotta be happy with the start to the season.
The same old demon keeps raising it’s ugly head, the O line. JJ Watt is going to be lining up against them in a couple weeks. They better get it figured out quickly or else Bradford is going to be looking at the sky a lot.Diggs played a big role with 182 yards off of nine catches and seems to be pretty in sync with Bradford.
Now let’s shutdown Cam Newton.
