Well, I seen the Vikings had a post up for free agency, figured I’d start one for the Packers. What’s everyone thinking so far with our signings of Hobbs and Banks? Think Gutey has something cooking for a WR or edge help? I’m happy we got O line support with Myers being let go and some needed corner support as well. Heard Chase Young is gonna be available today, but I won’t hold my breath. Go Pack Go!

I think the Packers over paid on Banks and Gutey is driving me nuts with how he will not pay a wide receiver or make a move for one.

Chase Young I think is back with the Saints already.

Chase Young already signed with the Saints yesterday.

I like Banks. He’s a road paver up front. I’d assume Jenkins goes to Center. That’s an upgrade on the interior OL for sure and the running game.

Hobbs is a very athletic guy (40.5″ vertical), who flashed as a rookie in spots. My biggest issue with him is he is likely best suited to play in the slot. We need a boundary CB badly.

We have to improve the pass rush. With today’s rules favoring the offense and teams’ abilities to throw the ball…you have to be able to get to the QB consistently with 4 or 5 guys. The Packers struggled mightily here.

I won’t lie, I was surprised at the number tied to both players’ contracts, but correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t the guaranteed money on the contracts low and the layout of them pretty team friendly? Thought I heard that anyway.

HObbs is only $16M guaranteed, Banks is supposedly $63M guaranteed. So yes, and no.

Gotcha. I think getting rid of Josh Myers and picking up Aaron Banks, albeit expensive, should be a net gain. I hope anyway, Jenkins should do better at center than Myers.

Hobbs is definitely a slot corner. May be high priced compared to last year’s contracts but CB contracts are scaling up fast.

WR help is a dim hope but needed. Too bad Watson couldn’t stay on the field, had that history in college as well.

Any updates on Trey Hendrickson yet? Figured he probably signed with Detroit a few minutes ago, or the Bears. jester

I’m glad we didn’t get Metcalf, hell of a player, but I think he’s a team cancer

The problem was the Pack really needed a #1 WR with speed. We have more than enough #2 WR’s IMO, and there weren’t any of those FA WR’s available. Unlike the queens, we actually have draft picks to be able to draft a WR this year. Our GM isn’t giving up enough draft capital to get into the top 5 picks in the draft and only winding up at pick #17 and then drafting the guy who hardly ever played because he was so bad. chased hah

At least the Pack didn’t give up a kings ransom to move up in the draft and just used their pick for the same player as Turner. coffee

I think they could move Tom to center. I read they are on record as saying they feel that is the position where he has the highest ceiling.

I haven’t been impressed with their moves so far. Best move has been seeing stokes sign with another team. Wish Nixon would go too.

I don’t ever get into the contract numbers because most contracts are restructured as needed and we all know the salary cap is baloney. The numbers for banks seem odd but I’m not concerned because I’m not paid to be concerned.
