Over the last week or so I’ve been asked about the high water in November. Many have said they’ve been coming to Everts for years and couldn’t remember a November with water this high.

The reason I recall high water in November is because I put my boat away on November 1st one year and then the water came up. There were many photos here on Ido showing snakes in anglers boats. They had found their borrows and with the rising water were pushed out into the water, then they looked for the closest warm object they could find. Warm boat motors and aluminum in the sun was a good fit.

So taking a brief look at history, here’s what I found:

These are all tail out readings at the dam above Everts Resort.

    Today: 673.93 Flow 31391
    Nov 3rd 2010 675.8 (snake river)
    (Oct 9th 2010 677.92)
    Nov 4th 2007 673.24

Dave and Redneck Jr had a good day over the weekend.

High water cranked on the bite in a fast water section of the river for me. I recalled last time the water was this high and went right back to where I was successful. Starting to look like a pattern. I’ll take any kind of water height, as long as it’s water and doesn’t require a dam auger!

That Oct/Nov 2010 high water set up one of if not the best bite I have seen on pool 2. That was a fun fall of fishing!

How is the bite? And the ramps? Bayport open? Thinking of taking fiance down for her first December P4 trip. She wants to fish at least one day in each month of the year in open water. We still have Jan, Feb, Mar and I think April to go. ;)

I’m working on a fishing report now. Well as soon as Travis answers my email anyway. )

I think the ramps are open…lol!

Bayport? I think there’s some ice forming on the St Croix but I haven’t been there for a while.
