Water level remains low but visibility is down some from last weekend. Water temp was 65. Had more success fishing jigs and plastic yesterday than cranks and most fish came from deeper water. Biggest walleye was a fat 22″ with smallies, a crappie, and of course sheephead coming to the boat. Also got to see eagles, herons, deer, and a raccoon. One of these days the kingfishers will show up. It occurred to me I’ve been fishing the Fort Snelling area for 30 years now. Funny how there are some spots and even fish you remember decades later. Anyway, good luck on the water.

I got out on Pool Two a couple of times last week and each trip I found a few willing fish. Last week end trolling rock/ rubble shoreline produces several 18-20 inch fish. Got one nicer walleye cranking wing dams. Friday I got two nicer fish in the 22 inch range. Both cranking wing dams. I also got one 25 inch walleye throwing crank bait to rip rap. Nothing fast and furious but I was nice to get a few Pool Two walleyes, I’ve been away for a couple of years. Lots of boats out Friday, Also even with the rains the river was in great shape,

We found a few eager WD Walleyes casting crankbaits Friday including this 27″. Seemed like you had to hit to WD face in order to get bit.
