Bought a boat and the motor has what I think is oxidation on the lower half. It’s white. Have read that clr will remove it? Anyone tried this? Or any suggestions? Going to tackle this today after work. Thanks

I don’t think that is oxidation. Its likely hardwater spots and the hot sun coupled with the under hood temps of the motor baked it on.

Try a good wax. Then, after you have it removed you can get some spot remover or quick wax from an auto or motorcycle shop and use it after every trip.

I guess I should have asked where you are located, perhaps you are in brackish water territory and it could be, but then the anode would have to be destroyed IMO before the motor would oxidize

I think it was on the river and inland lakes in the metro more than likely never wiped down after getting on the lake. If that helps

The Works toilet cleaner. Nothing better.

I like Vinegar, but my buddy used this on his never cleaned boat, and the buildup almost dripped off.
