It definitely depends on the location and design of the tattoo. Shorter lines are easier to take than long lines, and eventually the area gets a little numb after a while with a larger or more detail tattoo. Arms are the least painful in my experience (except inside/outside of elbows) and I’ve drifted off to sleep more than once while being tattooed. It’s like a meditation!

The lady friends. She started at the elbow and is working upward to the top of shoulder.

    Sorry Sharon!
I can’t seem to post pics! I tried twice. In fact when I tried to quote your post asking for a pic of the new tat, that post of mine wouldn’t even post. Most likely user error. I’m not all that savvy.

What I will say about my first experience is it was 3 1/2 hours that I did not enjoy all that much. Now it wasn’t the worst 3 1/2 hours I have ever spent but I do not think I want to do it again. I give props to people who have LOTS of them. But then again maybe I am just a “little girly man”!

That looks wonderful!! waytogo And yeah that one has lots of long lines that would make it more uncomfortable to get, especially for a first tattoo!!
