Wait what I thought he was going to close the fishing opener.

Yup hopefully they start putting in some docks. Kind of a PITA with a three year old and a fiberglass boat. Not complaining just hoping for some docks.

Sounds like that is the plan, buoys went out on prior yesterday, no docks yet

Pretty happy with this one. Now both of my favorite hobbies are back on! The real question is whether or not they will be allowing carts or if it will be walking only.

There are videos out showing ways courses are becoming “safer” like devices to retrieve balls from the hole using your putter

I think they realized that they had to give at least on this or there would be a full on mutiny. We live for our summers here and getting out of the water or golf course will be the medicine we need.

I sincerely hope they did this because the experts decided the risk was minimal and any increase it would cause would be handled by the medical system. Either way I am happy but I hope it was medically guided and not caving to any pressure

Hmmm, seems I was right-on with what I predicted in the other thread about WI’s extended shelter in place and that our sky isn’t falling.

This isn’t “behind” us, but Walz is taking logical steps to do what he can with MN’s economy while balancing safety. Be smart with how you recreate and everyone should be able to enjoy some portion of a normal Minnesota summer. Disclaimer: I still expect there to be obvious issues in places this summer like Minnetonka and other popular on-water party spots, but as a whole MN citizens have done a pretty good job with social distancing so far.

I didn’t vote for the guy, but have to admit that I’m impressed with how he has handled this all and kept it squarely about Minnesota. applause

Wisconsin issued this same measure a couple days ago…or like a day ahead of MN and Walz. A hint of the new 5 state coalition?

And the WI directive was walking only, no carts. That should be your answer for MN.

Hey all. First time poster and long time lurker. Just an FYI that I received a cancellation notice from Recreation.gov regarding a campsite reservation I had for Stony Point on Leech. Notice says they are closing from 4/17 -9/7/20 citing local safety concerns. You can request a refund now or just let it ride in case it’s lifted before your reservation date.

Please please please don’t be that boat with 4 obvious non-household members.

Same for don’t be that golf group that hangs out in the parking lot shoulder to shoulder drinking beer. That’s what got my parent’s course closed in Florida. That and someone flew in from New York City, next day on the driving range completely ignoring the 14 day quarantine.

Few bad apples cost my folks their only recreation. Stay safe and tight lines out there toast

I’m almost positve launch docks on the north metro were out. Not sure about the big fishing ones – I’ll pay better attention next time.
